About census contents

Manuscript pages of the censuses of individuals, grouped into the kolelim (communities) to which they belonged, are contained in separate bound volumes, entitled ‘Statistical Accounts’, now in the Montefiore Library.

These Statistical Accounts also contain details of the communal Institutions in each town. Now that the work of publishing the censuses on-line is finished, the Institutions are being treated in similar manner and will also be published on-line when completed.
